WE BID A FOND FAREWELL TO KAMIAR MALEKI

JANUARY 2023

We share with you the departure of Director Kamiar Maleki who resigned from his position in December to pursue new projects. Kamiar has been the consistent steer for VOLTA since 2019 and, applying his experience as a multifaceted arts professional and respected collector, has helped evolve our position on the international art collectors’ market in New York and Basel.

After working with the team to develop VOLTA’s voice as the place for artistic discovery, Kamiar subsequently created partnerships that supported new artistic talent and encouraged connoisseurship and collecting. He has notably been a catalyst for VOLTA’s involvement with and advocacy for the early NFT market. Most recently in 2022, he launched VOLTA’s first Cultural Spotlight Pavilion that brought together prominent voices of contemporary art from Saudi Arabia in one space.

Kamiar Maleki states;

“I am proud of the contributions I have made in my role as Director of VOLTA over the last three years - the relationships I have built, nurtured, and strengthened. The cohort of galleries we have built are among the highlights of my time with the fair. I extend my gratitude to the Ramsay Fairs family and Will Ramsay for the support throughout these years.  They are a great team to have had the opportunity to work with.

As someone who sees the deep value that art fairs play in connecting artists and galleries with the thoughtful collectors who support them, I ask that you continue to support VOLTA – a fantastic cornerstone that is developing the next generation of stars.”

Will Ramsay, CEO of Ramsay Fairs writes;

“We are extremely grateful for all that Kam has done over the three years he’s been with us. He has directed VOLTA with grace through a tough two years of global pandemic and made great progress in developing the fair’s vision as the place to find emerging artists of the future. Thank you for all that you’ve done, Kam.”

As we usher in this new year, the VOLTA family looks ahead to the return of our New York (May 17-21) and Basel (June 12-18) editions. With an exciting line up of galleries and artists assembling, we look forward to welcoming you and making 2023 our most vibrant chapter so far.

We will share highlights and milestones associated with the forthcoming fair editions in the coming months. In the meantime, the VOLTA team is available to address any inquiries you may have.

Please direct your questions to info@voltashow.com and a member of the fair team will be in touch with you promptly.
