Infiniti Projects
BROOKLYN, NY & BRUSSELS, BELGIUM
Stand F4
Showing for the first time at VOLTA Basel, INFINITI Projects is proud to present the work of Belgian artist Marc Lambrechts. A collaboration between the artist and projects curator Sheila Arora, this solo show is the culmination of their conversations that started during Lambrecht’s show at the Mission of Belgium to the United Nations in New York in 2001.
A printmaker by training, Lambrechts continued his practice at the Pratt Institute on his arrival in NYC in 1983 while also starting to paint. His first breakthrough came with a showing at the Soho Center for Visual Arts soon followed by a solo show at Tibor de Nagy gallery in New York. Infused with the energy of expressionist gesture, Lambrechts’ mixed media creations are much like his adopted city, a myriad of textures, grids and asymmetrical patterns, bursting with new, unpredictable life.
Lambrechts has since exhibited extensively throughout the United States and Europe. His work is currently featured in private, corporate and institutional collections worldwide. Lambrechts work has been widely reviewed in the media including Art News, the New York Times, Le Soir and Kunst and Cultuur. A comprehensive catalogue of his work is currently under compilation in Monaco
