(AV17) gallery
(AV17) gallery has been working with the contemporary sculpture for ten years and has specifically selected a set of sculptural objects that represent a diverse art scene of the Baltic countries. The gallery’s booth will feature three well-known and actively creating artists Rimantas Milkintas (Lithuania), Laura Põld (Estonia) and Mindaugas Junčys (Lithuania). Classical and modern materials, such as ceramics, granite, marble and industrial beams are used by the artists to create works that blend the dichotomies of the archaic and the contemporary.
The artworks reflect the cultural rituals and traditions of both the modern and the bygone humans as well as allude to the native historical symbols. Mixtures of the natural, archaic, classical, and contemporary are nowadays more and more relevant as we are longing for the familiar and traditional in these uncertain times.
