VOLTA Art Fairs forges new international partnerships in the Middle East North Africa region with MENA ART.

October 20, 2023 | VOLTA Art Fairs announces MENA Art as a new strategic partner. The role is to strategically advise the development of the fair in the Middle East North Africa region, as part of a commitment to expand its footprint across the world and bring new narratives to the art markets major capitals. MENA Art, a subsidiary of the MENA Global Group, will work alongside VOLTA’s newly appointed Artistic Director, Lee Cavaliere, to present new regional partnerships at the art fairs in New York and Basel, whilst meaningfully expanding VOLTA’s footprint in the MENA region.

VOLTA is dedicated to creating a space for collectors to discover, connect with and collect the Art of Now. VOLTA’s international cohort of galleries showcase work that reflects the world that we live in and serves as a forum of fresh perspectives by preeminent artistic talent. MENA Art will support this aim by expanding the fair’s geographical reach, deepen its knowledge of the region and provide cultural exchange expertise to establish new relationships with artists, galleries, curators, and organizations in the Middle East North Africa region.

As part of Lee Cavaliere’s 2024 vision for the fair, VOLTA has established an Advisory Board. Supported by MENA Art, a key role will be secured for a contemporary art expert with knowledge of modern and contemporary art in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In December 2023, MENA Art will sponsor a tour of the region to enable VOLTA to build personal relationships with arts experts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Casablanca and Cairo.

Lee Cavaliere, Artistic Director of VOLTA Art Fairs, said:

We are thrilled to partner with MENA Art and expand further our footprint in the Middle East North Africa regions. VOLTA offers a unique platform for ambitious galleries from across the globe to participate in the traditionally defined art market capitals. It’s with meaningful partnerships such as this, that we’re able to gain access to new regions and offer a springboard to enable galleries on an upward trajectory into these markets. Through our partnership with MENA Art, we look forward to supporting new voices and sharing their narratives in VOLTAs 2024 curation and beyond.”

William Kaafarani, Managing Partner at MENA Art, and the MENA Global Group, said:

"This new journey with VOLTA Art Fairs is going to be transformative to the art ecosystem in the entire MENA region and we’re delighted to be the key to these new introductions.”
